You will have to cope with whatever comes your way when your parent is injured. Some steps in the recovery process may be
easy to deal with but others may not. Coping with a lot of changes at once can be overwhelming, but there are many positive
ways you can help yourself. It's important to take care of your own health by having good sleeping, eating, and exercise
habits. Take time to be with friends and family and keep involved in activities you enjoy. Work with your injured parent to
figure out new fun stuff you can do together. Doing risky things like drinking or doing drugs is not a good way to cope. If
you find yourself seeking isolation, thinking of harming yourself, drinking alcohol, or other risky behaviors, get help
immediately. Keep yourself safe and healthy!
