There are many people you can turn to for support after you learn of your parent's death. Your surviving parent, siblings, and other family members can be supportive during any part of the grieving process. Talking to teachers, coaches, and other trusted adults may also be helpful for you. Many military kids find it reassuring to talk to friends who have lost a parent. The military community in general can provide assistance with day-to-day challenges. The hardest part may be asking for help and sharing how you feel. Talking and asking questions of people you trust can help you through the grieving process.
