Your parent died while serving his country. However, even if you feel that military service is important, having your parent die as a result of it may be confusing. There may be a time when you feel angry or confused that your parent died serving his country. And you may always feel this way. On the other hand you may feel proud that he was committed to fight for his country. Don't judge yourself if you don't feel one way or the other. Talking with other military kids or in support groups can help you sort out what it all means to you.
